Evan Baillie Fraser Tant, a master butcher, was at No. 1 from 1898 to 1901. He was born in Edinburgh on 29 March 1866, son of William Tant, butcher, and Ann Plummer. He married Elizabeth Reid, widow of Hugh Rose Smith, on 12 February 1890. She and their four children, along with two daughters by Elizabeth’s first marriage, were at No. 1 in 1901.
