  1. I am interested in the Cuthbertson family at No 1 – but looking at online maps and street views, I can’t see where No 1 is now supposed to be. Has it been absorbed into No 2? (Malta House now seems to be called No1.)

I am researching the eldest son, another William (Alexander), who was born in the house on 18/07/1882 – seemingly only shortly after the family arrived. He became a fine artist, studied at the RSA, and was appointed Ship’s Artist on board the ‘Scotia’ – the Scottish National Antarctic Expedition of 1902-1904.

    Can anyone assist me, please?
