Thomas Gifford

Thomas Gifford Esq. died at No. 8 Malta Terrace on 6 January 1835, aged 45.[1] He was the son of Gideon Gifford of Busta and Grace Nicolson, born 08 June 1789. He was in the service of the Honourable East India Company and styled of Hillswick.[2]

He married Janet Scott on 19 June 1821 at Delting, Shetland.[3] She was the daughter of John Scott of Melby, Shetland and Barbara Nicolson, born 23 October 1802.[4] Mrs Gifford was listed at 7 Great Stuart Street in 1836,[5] where her youngest son died on 10 February that year.[6]
