Charles Rule, an insurance agent, and Annie Hardie Lindsay Smith, a bookkeeper, married in Edinburgh on 21 October 1939.3 He was born in 19164 son of Walter Rule, a tailor, and Jessie Main. He died in Edinburgh in 2003.5
Annie Hardie Lindsay Smith was born in Edinburgh in 19156 daughter of Norman Smith, a window cleaner, and Annie Lindsay. She died in Edinburgh in 2001.7
