Mrs. Mary Adeline Bell lived at No. 3 for about five years, between 1933 and 1938.1 She was the widow of Robert Charles Bell, an elocution teacher, who died at the age of 58 on 08 January 1931.2 She was born Mary Adeline Jackson at Hightown, Middlewich, Cheshire on 17 May 1879,3 daughter of John Fletcher Jackson, printer and stationer, and Mary Jane Sant.4 She was still living with her parents in Middlewich in 1901,5 and in 1911 she was a nursing sister in Chester.6
Mary Adeline Jackson married Robert Charles Bell at the Balmoral Hotel, Edinburgh on 01 June 1914.7 She died, aged 81 years, at Queensberry House hospital on 30 December 1960.8
