Peter Glen

Peter Glen was superintendent of the home at Malta House after the second world war. He was born on 10 June 1884 son of Peter Glen, stereotyper, and Barbara Wilson.¹ He was a plumber by trade when he joined the Royal Marines in 1903. During the first world war he served on HMS Thunderer and was finally discharged in 1924.² In 1925 he was secretary of the Falkirk Corps of the Salvation Army.³ Peter Glen was listed at Malta House in the electoral register between 1945 and 1958. He died aged 82 at 1 Saxe Coburg Place on 17 October 1966.⁴

Peter Glen married Jessie Strang at Carlisle in early 1921.⁵ She was born at Dunblane on 19 March 1892, daughter of James Strang, wool sorter, and Mary Crawford. Jessie Glen was listed at Malta House in the electoral register between 1945 and 1958. She died at 1 Saxe Coburg Place on 19 September 1969.⁶

Peter Glen and Jessie Strang had a daughter, Mary Crawford Wilson Strang, born at Dunblane in 1925.⁷ She married Peter McFarlane Luke in Edinburgh on 26 July 1954^{8, 9} and died at Methil in 2019.¹⁰
