Alexander Fraser Dawson, a chemist, lived at No. 7. for almost fifty years, between 1904 and 1950. He was born on 11 June 1866, at New Deer, Aberdeenshire, son of Thomas Dawson, a railway inspector, and Mary Ogilvie Maxwell. He qualified as a chemist in 1889, and had a chemist’s shop at 14 Deanhaugh Street….
