      Agnes M. Cardno of Elmwood Avenue, Attleboro, died May 18 in the Philip Hulitar Hospice House in Providence, R.I. after a lengthy illness. She was 84.
      Born August 2, 1922 in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late John Whitney and Georgianna (Carver) Cardno.
      Agnes resided in Taunton for many years before moving to Attleboro in 1981. She was educated in Taunton schools including a year studying cooking and sewing at Taunton Vocational School.
      She worked on the drywheel cleaning jewelry at Swanks for over 40 years before her retirement.
      Agnes was a devoted and beloved member of New Testament Baptist Church in Norton.
      She is survived by good friends with whom she made her home, Jeanette Hayes and Jeanette’s son, Stanley Hayes, and also her church family.
      A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. May 22 in New Testament Baptist Church, One New Taunton Ave (Route 140), Norton.
      Visiting hours will held in New Testament Baptist Church one hour prior to the service, from 1 to 2 p.m.
      Burial will be in Oak Knoll Cemetery, Rehoboth.
