751 | Mr A CARDNO, INVERUGIE, DIES AGED 95 Family's link with St Fergus The last link with a former lengthy association with the Burn Mill, St Fergus, has been removed with the death of Mr Alexander Cardno, Katteburn, Inverugie, in his ninety-fifth year. The milling business was in the hands of Mr Cardno's grandfather, and later of his father, and when the latter died, as a young man, Mr Cardno carried on until his retirement at the age of sixty-nine. Apart from his wide connection with farmers while at the mill, Mr Cardno took a particularly keen interest in horticulture, and was an enthusiastic supporter of the St Fergus flower show in former years. Even after going into retirement at Katrn he hae retained his interest in flowers, and he spent much of his time in the care of a large garden. 752 | Mr George Cardno, who had been employed at the left luggage department of the Joint Station for 36 years, passed away at his house, 23 Hollybank Place, to-day, after a short illness. Mr Cardno, who was 63 years of age, was well liked by all whom he came in contact, both at the station and in private life.
