Peter Cardno was a son of James Cardno in Kinglasser & was born in 1777.

Peter Cardno who married Isabella Sutter was a glass & stoneware merchant who in 1824-5 had the business at 76 Gallowgate & his house in Rhind's Court, 64 Gallowgate. He appears to have died that year, as his name does not occur again in Aberdeeen Directories. His widow carried on the business at the same place till 1835-6 when business was at 3 Gallowgate & house at Rhind's Court, 64 Gallowgate. In the following year (1836-7) his son Peter Cardno has the business at No 3 Gallowgatee, both he and Mrs Cardno his mother then residing at 32 Constitution Street (Aberdeen Dir). The son continued the businessat 3 Gallowgate & he and his mother resided 32 Constitution Street together till 1839, when Peter Cardno (1839-40) has ththe glass & stoneware business at 70 & 72 Gallowgate; but he and his mother still residing at 32 Constitution St. In 1840 Peter Cardno marries, continues the business at 70 & 72 Gallowgate; but resides at ... his mother continues to reside at 32 Constitution Street. The same situation was 1i 1841-2. In 1842-3 the business was at 134-136 Gallowgate, Peter staying on at Coopers..., his mother now residing at 26 Constitution Street. In 1843-4 business the same but Peter's house now 239 George Street, his mother at 26 Constitution Street. Peter leaves Aberdeen in the course of that year, his name does not appear again. In 1844-5 (his mother) Mrs Cardno is at South Constitution Street. Mrs Cardno is in Wales Street in 1845-6 & in 1846-7, but does not occur again.

Peter Cardno died 17 January 1825 aged 48.
