According to the late 1950's tombstone transcriptions William Wood Cardno died in Auckland 30 October 1881 aged 40 years, Benjamin Cardno (his brother) drowned Sydney Harbour 10 February 1882 aged 28 years and James Webster Cardno (infant son o of E. R. Cardno) died Auckland 10 August 1882 aged 11 months. James Webster Cardno is the in the 1882 Death certificate index (949).enjamin Cardno his brother died in Sydney Harbour 10th Feb'y 1882 aged 28 years, James Webster infant son of E.R. Cardno died at Auckland 10th August 1882 aged 11 months"n of Ebenezer Robertson Cardno and Jane Cardno (nee Webster).
