- After John’s death in 1825, a Petition was brought by Christian Cardno in April of that year on behalf of herself and their children, Barbara, Elizabeth, Ann, James, William and Alexander. Janet, John and Christian are not mentioned, presumably having reached an independent age. He seems to have left a considerable estate and mentions many debtors including The Harbour Trustees of Peterhead and some Aberdeen companies.
