- Aberdeen Evening Express, 6 May 1884: About a month ago a boy named Cardno, eight years of age,son of Mr Charles Cardno, railway carter, received a hurt by falling on his head at school while at play, from the effects of which he has died. Little appears to have been thought of the accident until eight or ten days ago, when serious symptoms appeared. Much sympathy is expressed with his parents, particularly as it is only a year or two since another of their sons, of similar age, was fatally hurt.
