He married Giles Shirrell or Shirrald on 14 August 11695 (Old Deer Ep Ch Reg). On 3rd April 1696 he was at Little Crichie; on 28 December 1698 he was in Pitfour, and on 6th August 1700 he was in Aden. [S30] Cardno Manuscripts, (unpublished notebooks, c.1920-30), p. 140.
