Compeared therafter Helen Bonar at Littlearnage an unmarried woman and confessed that she had been guilty of the sin of Fornication: having given birth to a child about six weeks ago: on being warned by the Moderator to speak the truth she declared on being interrogated that Charles Cardno Mill of Kinhanachie also unmarried had been guilty with her and was the father of her child: whereupon after a suitable admonition from the Moderator she was dismissed for the present and summoned apud acta to the next meeting of Session to be holden on the 11th June next and the man was ordered to be summond along with her.

11 June 1848: Compeared Charles Cardno referred to in minutes of last meeting and along with him Helen Bonar the woman who accused him. On hearing the declaration which the woman had emitted against him Charles Cardno acknowledged its truth and confessed himself to be the father of her child: whereupon both were solemnly addressed by the Moderator and then dismissed for the present.
